Two More Sewage Pipes Break In Ft. Lauderdale

No holiday break for crews in Ft. Lauderdale working to repair two more sewage pipe breaks. This brings to 6 the number of sewage pipes rupturing this month. Commissioner Steve Glassman says they've known for years the system needed a major overhaul, a 2017 consultant's study shows the city needed 1.4-billion in improvements after years of neglect. No word yet on when the latest spills happening in Victoria Park and Coral Ridge will be fixed. Pump stations have been shut off in both areas so sewage is no longer flowing on streets. The commission will give the public an update on the overall sewage situation next Thursday.
