Spirit Airlines Files For Bankruptcy

After two failed mergers in less than 2 years, Dania Beach-based Spirit Airlines has filed for bankruptcy.

The low-fare carrier has struggled to find its footing after its planned merger with JetBlue was blocked by a federal judge.

Spirit travelers can still book flights and fly as normal. All tickets, credits and loyalty points can still be used.
